# MissedTakes Passes 1,000 Hours of Transcribed Audio

*Published 2026-10-09 — MissedTakes*

AUSTIN, Texas — October 9, 2026 — MissedTakes has passed its 1,000th hour of audio transcribed, turning spoken predictions from podcasts and broadcasts into the same checkable record it keeps for written takes. As of today the site has transcribed 1,009 hours.

The count is narrow by design: it's hours of podcast and broadcast audio MissedTakes has transcribed so that spoken predictions can be put on the record and graded like written ones, counted in whole hours, rounded down. A lot of the sport's and the election cycle's most quotable forecasting never gets written down at all — it's said on a show, a pod, a pregame set — and this is the work that makes those calls citable and gradable in the first place.

The count is also moving fast. It stood at 993 hours just one day ago, on October 8 — 16 hours added in a single day. That pace shows up in the kind of material the transcripts capture verbatim: Shannon Sharpe telling viewers the Broncos would "beat Kansas City when they come to them," or Chad Ochocinco Johnson promising the Bengals would "beat the Steelers again" — both calls now graded on the record exactly as spoken, down to the stumbles the person watching the tape actually said.

That transcription work feeds everything else the site does. MissedTakes has now graded 11,815 predictions in total, drawn from 7,182 takes it has put on the record out of 8,357 articles, podcast episodes and broadcast segments read or watched in full, from 1,091 approved pundits across 260 outlets it tracks. Across 13 completed seasons of tracking, pundits' NFL calls have averaged 61.8% accuracy and their US election calls 77.5%, among the outlets and pundits MissedTakes covers.

"A take someone said out loud on a podcast should be held to the same standard as one they wrote down," said Ben Garves, founder of The GoodApps Company. "Passing a thousand hours of transcribed audio means a lot more of what pundits actually say on air is now something readers can go check for themselves."

## About MissedTakes

MissedTakes (missedtakes.co) grades pundits' predictions against what actually happened. It tracks published takes from articles, podcasts and broadcasts, turns each into checkable calls, scores them under a published methodology once the results are in, and ranks pundits and outlets by accuracy with the sample size always beside the score. It is built and paid for by The GoodApps Company in Austin, Texas, carries no advertising, and its scoring methodology is public.
