2,719 graded takes land strictly between the extremes, and the shape has a story: the counts climb as the scores improve. A take that earns partial credit is far more likely to be nearly right than nearly wrong.
This is where the curve-graded kinds live — mock draft picks (2,039), score predictions (504) and depth chart calls (198) — the kinds where missing by a little costs a little, not everything.
Robert Tonyan to make the roster
Tonyan's stock has been pointing upwards for some time, and he appears to have sealed his fate with four catches for 61 yards against his former team in the preseason opener.
Adam Prentice to make the roster
There has been a debate about whether to go with Prentice or a fourth running back on the 53-man roster... the play of Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler Badie, and Cody Schrader made it clear that Prentice should stick on the roster over any of them.
Brenen Thompson to make the roster
Thompson is a rookie hand-picked by Mike McDaniel, so he's not going anywhere. His inclusion would make it about five wideouts as a lock already.
Jacob Cowing to be cut
He is definitely a cut candidate after camp.
Marquise Brown to make the roster
The conventional wisdom is that $5 million in guarantees will keep Brown safe, and that's probably true.
Sebastian Valdez to make the roster
His DT roster competition Sebastian Valdez had five tackles including a tackle for loss. Advantage Valdez.
Jordan van den Berg to make the roster
van den Berg has even gotten looks with the ones, which is a good sign he's going to make the roster.
Jalen Brooks to make the roster
The Cardinals will have some tough conversations in regards to the WR room, but if Brooks keeps pace like this, he'll end up on the roster.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. to make the roster
Trotter Jr. doesn't have to play well Saturday to maintain a grip on a roster spot. He has played well enough already where he could be a starter elsewhere
Dohnte Meyers to make the roster
The 26-year-old Meyers, who spent some time in the CFL, has never played a down in an NFL regular-season game, but that could soon change because it's looking more and more likely that he's going to make the roster.
Kirk Cousins to be 1st on the depth chart
Raiders coach Klint Kubiak said the starting QB job was still Kirk Cousins' to lose, so don't look for the rookie to be starting in Week 1.

T.J. Slaton’s playing time against the Lions (six snaps) suggests he’s a roster lock as well despite the crowded position
